LGBTShops is a community-built guide to LGBTQ+ friendly businesses — cafes, salons, bookshops, doctors, mechanics, and everything in between. We help people find places where they can show up as themselves, and we help great businesses get found by the people who'll love them.

We're queer-owned and queer-run. The site exists because we wanted it to exist, and we're building it for the long haul.
How it started
It started as a private spreadsheet, A list of safe haircuts, dentists who used the right name, and bars where nobody would side-eye us. Friends asked for the link, then friends-of-friends did, and eventually the spreadsheet outgrew itself. LGBT Shops is what that list became when we decided to share it with everyone.
What we do
We curate a public directory of businesses that have signaled, Through ownership, policy, or a track record, That LGBTQ+ people are genuinely welcome. We verify what we can, listen when something's off, and remove listings that stop meeting the bar.
What we don't do
We don't take payment for placement. We don't sell your data. We don't run ads. The site is funded by a small team, voluntary tips, and the occasional merch drop. That's it.
